Laut Kotaku.com soll Playfish (Eine von EA kürzlich erst gekaufte Firma) an einem sehr wichtigen Spiel für EA arbeiten. Hierbei könnte es sich mit großer Wahrscheinlichkeit um C&C handeln. Wie schon vor einigen Wochen der Chef von EA, John Riccitello und der neue C&C Meister, John Van Caneghem gesagt haben, wollen sie C&C für die Zukunft mehr Onlinefähig machen und die Bandbreite in dem Themengebiet stark vergrößern. Möglich wäre, laut Canaghem und Riccitello, ein C&C MMO. Man geht bisweitem stark davon aus, dass es sich hierbei um ein RTS handeln soll.
Die Gerüchte um Playfish geben der ganzen Aussage einen relativ sicheren Handschlag, da die britische Firma u.a. auch Facebook bereitstellt und in dem Themengebiet stark vertreten ist und somit die perfekte Firma für EA ist, ein MMO zu erstellen…
Playfish president Kristian Segerstrale, flush with cash after his casual gaming company was bought out by Electronic Arts last year, has told the Wall Street Journal of his plans for the year ahead.Among advice dished out to Playfish’s competitors and predictions of a „rapid maturing“ in the casual scene over the next year or two, Segerstrale revealed that his company is currently working on a social game based on a „well-known EA brand“, and that it will be out later this year.
Interesting. It’s not Lord of Ultima, somebody else is doing that. What it may be is Command & Conquer, especially when you back and re-read EA boss John Riccitiello’s comments to Kotaku last year.
